Constitutional Court saves ANC from election pain after it failed to press submit button

This is a shocking (but not unexpected) decision

So what is the deadline for the next election? Can parties submit minutes before the election and complain that the ballots aren't ready? Or is this a 1 time thing, special, just for the ANC?

It doesn't really matter if you like the ANC or the current system, but its integrity has to be protected. So this is one instance where I actually support the ANC. Whether there were internal struggles or incompetence is irrelevant to the fact they managed to meet the deadline in what the law requires. The EC should have just accepted the submissions as now they have more work and a tighter deadline to meet.

So basically there's now a legal precedent that anything you load online but don't press the final button to submit can be deemed to be submitted anyway. Fantastic, I'm sure this will work out fine.
The law already works that way. Load illegal content on a server and see what happens. It doesn't matter that you didn't click the final submit button.

This is the ruling I expected, not desired.

But as said above, said party cannot use this as excuse for the incoming dismal performance.

Edit: this ruling also alleviates the IEC from being seen to be "siding" with crud.
