And undoing their rules will likely take much longerOld habits die hard. They've had 30+ years of making the rules.
Some regulations or laws need to be amended indeed. It doesn't really matter if you like the ANC or the current system, but its integrity has to be protected. So this is one instance where I actually support the ANC. Whether there were internal struggles or incompetence is irrelevant to the fact they managed to meet the deadline in what the law requires. The EC should have just accepted the submissions as now they have more work and a tighter deadline to meet.
Remember, just add your tax stuff, don't submit it.
It's officially now still counts as submitted.
Anything just loaded and not submitted now counts as submitted.
As said the laws need to be amended. I assume in the case of SARS the law allows SARS to require a final acknowledgement, but in the case of the IEC it doesn't.Honestly I wonder what precedent this sets for such situations
Yep... That brainpower is certainly something...In reality all this really does is confirm morons are running the country, I wouldn't trust these idiots with anything, but apparently, we allow them to dictate our children's futures. Not sure who is really the moron anymore.
BSits integrity has to be protected
I'm not talking about the ANC but the IEC. So far it's the only trusted institution in the country even if you don't agree with the system in place. If the world starts questioning its integrity everything starts falling apart like in Zim. But I suspect this has more to do with the fact they didn't want to appear partial so they let the legal system make the decision even though it now costs more.BS
The cANCer and Con-court have always shared a special understanding that let's the criminally incompetent, ignorant and corrupt criminal enterprise off the hook for pretty much everything.
The cANCer has zero farking integrity. What's to protect?
There's a lot more to this. First there is the legislation which actually doesn't support the electronic system the IEC has in place. That has to change. Then there were several technical issues which affected several parties. It was confirmed by others that it wasn't always clear whether you submitted or not and if you went back you would see your button press did nothing. The ANC is on the record as having phoned the IEC about the problems before the deadline. Now what happens next time? If a party has a draft list saved, do those people automatically end up on the ballot even though they weren't submitted, or must you still submit it as your final list?
If I'm busy filling in my tax return, and I'm not done, can SARS sue me before I submitted it because they saw the draft and I left a placeholder amount in there somewhere? This has potential to open a whole case of worm cans.
The law already works that way. Load illegal content on a server and see what happens. It doesn't matter that you didn't click the final submit button.
