Pixel 11 VoLTE works on your network, but your settings aren't in GSMA NSX

I'm using an unlocked Pixel 11 Pro on Telkom. VoLTE shows as unavailable, so calls drop to 3G.

The network supports it. The same SIM does VoLTE in a Samsung, and when I force it on the Pixel, IMS registers and calls stay on LTE. The forced setting doesn't survive a restart, though.

Google now enables VoLTE on the Pixel 11 using operator settings from the GSMA Network Settings Exchange (NSX). That suggests Telkom's settings aren't there yet.

Can anyone from Telkom confirm whether Telkom has submitted its VoLTE settings to NSX?

Is anyone else on Telkom using a Pixel 11?

Forget about it on MTN.VoLTE is not even an option and I spoke to someone at MTN and he said that they don't support Pixel Phones.
Had the issue with a Pixel 8 Pro and now with my Pixel 11 Pro XL.
Happy enough that 5g is fully enabled as it was not supported with the Pixel 8 Pro.
Also no WIFI calling supported on the Pixel 11 Pro XL and MTN.

Hope I'm not derailing thread, but just adding some info.

How do you manage without VoLTE? Do you load it each time or just live without it?

I just live without it. If a call is poor quality then so be it.
One of the minor inconveniences having an unsupported device in South Africa.
All the Pros outweigh the Cons.
Most of my comms are anyway via Whatsapp.

Having been on a Pixel device for about 3 1/2 years I honestly won't use any other device bar Huawei if they ever get back on to Google Services.

I hear you. I use a Pixel 9 Pro XL as my secondary device and absolutely love Pixels. Been rocking them for years.

I make a lot of calls though, so the 3G fallback and lack of esims compatibility and no 5G get to me. The shizuku/pixel IMS hack worked most of the time though for Volte and vowifi.

If the reports are true that the Pixel 11 will support 5G and VoLTE in unsupported countries out of the box, I'll probably grab one and finally ditch this S25. I really can't stand One UI. Stock Android on a Pixel is just a completely different experience. So much cleaner and better, IMO.

Im in a similar boat honestly. Hating my s23 and one UI, iOS is not even worth mentioning no matter how cool the specs are.

It seems like for VoLTE to work out the box either google needs to add defaults, like Samsung has or South African networks need to join the global database.

5g works out of the box. Telkom are happy to provide an esim so it would be the perfect device.

I would be happy with the pixel IMS hack but it's reminding me of the old tethered iPhone jailbreaks.

I'm trying to decide if this is a deal breaker for me or not lol

I don't seem to have an issue with 3g fallback when making calls.

Pixel 11 Pro XL has 5g out of the box.Seems they stopped the LTE limitation.

MTN said an esim should work, but there is a chance that it could just stop working due to the make of phone not supported by their network.

Samsung S21Ultra is what drove me towards a Pixel. Was not impressed with the Samsung.

yeah I don't see it being a big issue, but using pixel ims it works, has been tested and is a lot better. Its bugging me and I want it lol

but I will definitely use the phone in the mean time and just deal. 5g works perfectly, telkom says they would give me an esim. Why do you think mtn would stop it from working?

I still need to test vodacom sim properly

After speaking with Telkom i finally got a hold of one of their technical team members who assures me this is on the cards and is expected to be done some time in the next few months with no ETA given as of yet.

Still my favourite network in SA, lets see if it gets better
