I don't think the plumber said he landed the plane. Just that he pulled it out of the dive.
But in the article, the pilot's attention seemed to be pretty focused on not dying.

Yeah, who knows. It just seems a bit off that he has no recollection at all of the plumber.

I think the test is whether or not the plumber charged an exorbitant call out fee and demanded payment before leaving the plane.

If he was a genuine plumber, he would have definitely done that.
