Movie Mini-Review Thread - Part IV

[Dimpie (JIGSAW)]

Sacrifice (2025) 5/10

A misstep "action-adventure comedy-drama". Properly deep in it's themes & it comes across as messy. The setting was very intriguing at least.

I like the actors, but the trailer says "Don't waste your bandwidth" ??

Khaki Fever (2025) 6 / 10
It was actually pretty entertaining.
@ShaunSA might like it.

Insidious: Out of the Further (2026) 6 / 10
Was pretty decent for a horror. Playing on peoples fears and all.

The Sixth Sense (1999) 10/10

Still a brilliant film. When AI didn't write the stories.

Tenzing - 8/10. Feel good, "amazing" story, beautifully made.

A few recent watches.

King of New York (1990)
8/10 - Really enjoyed this. Christopher Walken and Laurence Fishburne both delivered great performances.

Go (1999)
9/10 - Great movie with a mix of tense and funny moments. The Pulp Fiction influence is undeniable, but it's good enough to be more than just a ripoff.

Smokin' Aces (2006)
6.5/10 - Cool cast and plenty of potential. The movie goes off the rails halfway through and never recovers.

Black Bag (2025)
5/10 - Boring and forgettable.

2/10 maximum although the dog gets 7/10.

[Werner1975]

Buddy (2026) 6/10. Creepy and strange horror, using a children's program as base. Pretty weird.
Resident Evil (2026) - 7.5/10. For me, this was the best attempt at a movie for this franchise. Totally new characters. Plenty of action and a variety of monsters. Lead actor does a good job. Funny at times, mixed with dread and horror. A fun watch.

Insidious: Out of the Further

Good old school horror.
