US Politics: Catering to Iran

US Secretary of War Hegseth said Washington has not changed its position on Ukraine, but wants to ensure the US military retains as many interceptor missiles as possible, adding that Zelensky is aware of this. Hegseth praised Ukraine’s “heroic efforts” and the large amount of aid it has received, but claimed that under the previous administration US weapons stocks were effectively emptied

On Monday, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi denied the U.S. Department of Justice’s attempt to dismiss NAACP’s Clean Air Act lawsuit, which challenges the tech company’s continued operation of an illegal, unpermitted gas-fired power plant to support its Colossus 2 data center. The District Court ruled that the DOJ does not have the right to unilaterally block the case and rejected the department’s argument that xAI should be allowed to break the law solely because the Trump administration says so.

In its order, the Court wrote that there is “no ‘fairly possible’ interpretation of the Clean Air Act that would give the United States the right to unilaterally dismiss a citizen suit,” and that it “does not share the ‘serious constitutional doubts’ that the United States identifies” in its filings.

While the Court ruled that the DOJ can intervene in the case, it noted that “[w]hat the United States can and cannot do after intervention, however, is another matter.”

The district court’s order came shortly after the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the DOJ’s motion for a stay of the district court proceedings, citing that the Court had not yet ruled on the issue.

Ukraine has been targeting Russia's oil refineries for over a year with only slight increase. Anything to deflect that it was him attacking Iran that caused the sharp rise

He knows his electorate don't have enough to process things he says. This is part of electioneering. Coupled with the hundreds of thousands of bot accounts, their message is getting to the right people. Contrary to nonsense peddled on these boards, the average American isn't much different from the average South African.

Jean-Bedel Bokassa...in orange.

What could he mean by this? Important in promoting radical Islam perhaps?

Here's the full quote:

"Our movement here in New York City is a movement that is part of something national, which is a fight for working people. When you think about Dr El-Sayed's campaign, I often go back to the way that he describes it: Money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for all. Those are concerns that ring true for Michiganders. They are also concerns that ring true for New Yorkers. And I think that his victory and the victory of Democrats across this country is of critical importance to our city. Because what it also indicates is a willingness to chart a new course in Washington that has working people at the heart of it, and so we're hopeful. And yet we also know that hope doesn't win elections. The action that it motivates does, and we look forward to that."
