RAM prices are ridiculous

The problem with that (and likely why nobody else is even considering it) is the time taken from planning to production is around a decade, followed by several years after that to break even. I don't think anyone expects the bubble to last nearly that long.

AFAIK, product is still moving with these high prices. I am not talking about business acquisitions; I am talking about the everyday consumer. Some people have wealth.

Yes they are, but if you increase global capacity to meet last year's demand, prices will reach all time lows. The ROI isn't there - it's like buying hardware today to mine Bitcoin in 2037.

Some interesting reading, and it is speculation, but I am seeing cues. It seems that Nvidia's AIB partners need to advance Nvidia's entire hardware stack. In short, they can't only sell gaming dGPUs. Say this is true, it would be tailored to every partner, and Nvidia is pushing AI.

I would assume that AMD and Intel would have the same agreements with their partners. Partners would have no choice as to where their memory allocations go.

This whole conversation popped up with how aggressively the Spark is being marketed.

From a manufacturer :crying:

The situation has now changed significantly and is deteriorating further. What initially appeared to be a temporary supply shortage is increasingly developing into a long-term structural challenge. A meaningful improvement may not be expected before 2029 or even 2030.

Might make developers actually start to optimise games now, instead of building it for AI to fix it.
