BioWare Shutting Down, Next Mass Effect Canceled

Sad. Was really looking forward to the next Mass Effect. Wonder if someone will form a new studio to continue the series.
You would need to go for the spiritual successors of which 3 are slated for release at the moment.
-Exodus. Helmed by Bioware veterans and written by Drew Karpyshyn (lead writer of ME 1 & 2)
-Star Wars: FOTOR. Led by ME Trilogy director Casey Hudson
-The Expanse: Osiris Reborn. An ME Inspired game

Yes, looking forward to Exodus and Fotor. Haven't looked at Expanse yet.

The problem with games like Exodus though is that it's a brand new universe with brand new lore etc. Mass Effect lore is so well established and now it's just gone, we have to start over with something else.

Ah. Beautiful. I went to bed grinning last night and slept like a baby.

'Tis what happens when you want to "own the chuds" but the chuds are your paying customers.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Veilguard is a good game if you can look past the one or two rubbish woke conversations. Close your eyes and ears when talking to Taash and you'll see that 99% of the game is actually pretty great. :)

This is how a rapist talks to their victim. Don't be like @wbot, don't be a victim. Liberate yourself from Veilguard.

You might want to look at the Expanse since it is set an existing book / tvshow universe and the original authors are involved.

Yes I know what Expanse is, just haven't checked out the game yet.

Have watched the show and I've played Telltale's Expanse which was pretty good but that one's a whole different genre.

In retrospect Bioware haven't done much for a while, however with their demise goes their IP. The Mass Effect trilogy was epic, and I can't see EA allowing anyone else to work on a new Mass Effect game.

4 games and 1 remake in 12 years isn't much? Oh, you mean they kept putting out trash garbage. ;)

The fact they cancelled the new Mass Effect, instead of handing it over to a different internal team shows that yet again, Bioware fύcked development badly.

Going to bat for EA in any situation is certainly a choice... EA only give a sh*t about money, and the type of games that Bioware make just aren't as poriftable as the next Battlefield reskin.

I disagree with that take.

Bioware started making games nobody wanted.

There's certainly an element of them taking too long to make their games etc., money concerns, but the wokeness in their games was definitely an element. I loved Bioware's older titles. I haven't bought any of their newer stuff. It all just seemed like such trash to me. I am clearly not alone in this.

Can't stay afloat if nobody is buying your product.

I am sad about what happened to Bioware. They once made the best RPGs in the industry. They lost their way somehow.

Maybe they'll revive it after enough backlash
