Municipalities going after one group of homeowners in South Africa

South African individuals and businesses that are being lumped with monthly "service" charges from corrupt/inept/inefficient municipalities that can't provide a basic human right service, should all stand together and refuse to pay these charges.

The only way to teach these municipalities some form of accountability, is to remove a source of funding. You can't pay corrupt water tanker mafias if you don't have the money to do so.

This is why any kind of "registration" is a load of hot garbage.

This is just insane. If someone has a borehole it's none of the muni's business. Even more so if that muni can't supply reliable water.

They charge a municipal water connection fee. They do not add any value to the process of creating and utilising the borehole.

And I'm sure water-shedding is on the horizon with the El Niño impact. Been considering a borehole, but now have to worry about this as well?

Someone should take the Bronkhorstspruit water for testing and go after them for attempted murder if the levels deem it necessary. Under South African drinking water standard SANS 241, the limit for E. coli (or faecal coliforms) is not detected (0 count per 100 mL). Any detection is a fail for untreated drinking/cooking use and indicates faecal contamination risk.
