Contamination crisis hits South Africa’s capital – 22 more areas urged to boil water before drinking

Generally because you guys are masters at double standards when it is the DA caught in a web of corruption.
Who you guys? If there is corruption or a web of it, 90% of the time it's the ANC, the remaining 5% is EFF, the other is ActionSA or whatever.

There are plenty here, You @Lupus for a start.
I don't defend the DA, I just point out the issues with your arguments, which are all covered in the love of the ANC you have. You will try find everything wrong with the DA, when corrected you still go oh yeah but it was DA run, when it was a coalition, which means it wasn't DA run... I know this is hard for an ANC supporter to understand what a coalition is and how it's not run by a single party.
Even now the ANC seems to struggle with this concept, but I'll let you know, a coalition is when a group of parties agrees to run something, a group of parties... Not the ANC and it's underlings will all bow and lick the ANC rear. So far in everything the ANC,EFF,ASA have shown is that they are only in it for themselves.
When the DA is caught in a web of scandal it's one person and it's maybe a small amount, when the ANC is caught in a web of scandals it's 500 billion and people die.

Can't remember that last time I felt comfortable drinking tap water anywhere in SA.
Haven't used tap water since the start of Covid, probably ok to use it to flush the toilet, and water the garden but rainwater is safer for washing clothes at this point.

Any reasonable explanation why the DA mismanaged the money meant to fix the water treatment plant?
The DA led administration appointed a dubious BEE company to fix the water plant. They were probably trying to adhere to the dubious laws of the land. As with all projects started by BEE companies, the work was never finished. If a proper company was appointed to do the work, there would not have been a problem, but this is the story of South Africa.

I am genuinely impressed that at least you could come up with something, even if it's BEE made them do it, were there no other BEE compliant companies that are not corrupt?

You guys are messing up with your immune system, when Cholera gets you by chance, you are kicking the bucket.

We have over 12kl of harvested rainwater but, unless there is a local supply issue, it's currently only being used for laundry.

After solar goes in next week, and we've added a few air conditioners to the house, my plan is to look into making that water potable.
