Context and reading comprehension.

The post I responded to was highlighting what the ruling ANC is doing and why this means the people would have little reason to vote against them.

I pointed out that the ANC only gets busy when it is election year (or something has gone horribly wrong). I live in an ANC-run schithole. They have done fvckall until now. Now potholes are getting fixed, roads are being painted and traffic lights that were cut down during the Covid lockdowns are suddenly up and running again. Why now and why so long for them to do something? Ah, yes. Election year and the ANC is now in real danger of actually losing power/majority control in the areas they have been destroying for the better part of 30 years.

More than a little bit of Trumpism in the quoted twit. But Mashaba is an admirer so that makes sense.
Mashaba isn't known for tact or foresight, he is being trolled on X for all the nice things he was saying about the DA, even about the same Zille he can't be in the same room with today.

But all that aside, it is clear that the DA has put itself in a very difficult position as far as coalitions are concerned, back then all parties were united in making sure the ANC is kept out of power, now it seems the parties are united in keeping the DA out of power.

Just cut all finger pointing BS and make water a national responsibility, Rand Water is more than capable to be the implementing agent for the national department.
It won't happen because it is a political before it is a service delivery matter. Municipal bosses want control of the budgets and revenues associated with these services.

I think typing WA messages for R600k is good money.
Its great money. If you want to see a thankless job, try being a farm worker for a week. Okes get paid R250 a day for back breaking work in the blazing sun. They would gladly take the job that offers a "mere 600k".

The funny thing is that society would fall apart within weeks if we had no farm workers. How long do you think society would take to miss a councillor? I'm willing to bet it would take years to notice they are gone, if you notice at all.
LOL. Lerato Mphefo is DA councillor by the way. Very responsive and frequently seen in ward..
Who cares? Show me a politician and I'll show you a liar. Kak+1 is still kak. How far can you throw Gwede? Thats about how much I trust any politician.

don't care who they are, they all just window dressing oxygen thieves. How many potholes can you fix with R600k?
Have you ever been on a board of trustees/directors for HOA/sectional title ? Governance is hard even for small number of units. Councillor position, as enacted correctly by our one, would be 1000 times harder.

Exactly. How many pcs for saps detectives can you buy for R600k?

At least if councillors were in charge of budgets for basic services in their respective ward, like potholes, traffic lights, local water leaks, grass cutting etc, it would be fair to blame them. They are like the poor receptionist who gets shouted at by angry customers while protecting the bosses who are screwing the cust9.
