Makro immediately removed several banned light bulbs after MyBroadband informed the retailer the devices were being sold on its online marketplace.

That was because incandescent bulbs used approximately 10 times as much electricity as LEDs, while CFLs consumed roughly twice as much power as LEDs.

They also don't last more than a year. All the LED bulbs I've purchased keeps flickering and dying on me.

Eurolux and Checkers are cheap ass white-lable bulbs rebranded from China. Philips the oddity, but Osram lasts years. It's not the LED's that fail, but the bad circuitry design with the lack of heat dissipation on the cheaper bulbs that cause capacitors to fail early.
