The Post Office wants to take exclusive control over a R25 billion sector in South Africa

Creditors had to take a significant haircut on money owed, receiving only 12 cents on the rand and writing off 88% of debts.
This is what irks me,

How many companies have taken a drastic hit because of SAPO's inability to pay their accounts. However al they do is go into business rescue get the bills cleaned and then come out on the other end claiming they can fix the SOE.

Just burn the **** to the ground.

Further they clearly came out of business rescue unable to turn any sustainable profit without being able to get this exclusivity license so they can limp along on the inevitable licensing taxes they're going to charge courier companies.

Why was SAPO allowed out of business rescue in that unsustainable state in the first place instead of just being dragged out back and shot in the head like the unrecoverable piece of garbage it is?

I assume this is still the 1Kg weight limit nonsense. Just need to make an arrangement that no parcel under the weight limit gets sent to you, easy enough. Courier services can send you a free paper weight with every order. You can send extra paperweights to people you send parcels to. Everyone gets a free paperweight.
