South African woman made R16.55 million in less than a year using AI to write romance novels

Well if people want to spend money on AI slop then that's on them. Unless she never declared that all her "novels" were generated by AI

theres a lot of this AI cr@p on Facebook - and its all garbage - if its for free then no reason to complain but if you have to pay for it then rather do without it

in terms of accuracy all this AI garbage is going to be as reliable as Wikipedia ...... in other words if its printed on paper then that paper may as well as be toilet paper because its worth nothing else

I don't buy it. While AI had gotten better, I still have to edit the hell out of it. Considering she's hiding most of her work, I suspect she's scamming people by making up claims to pump up the appeal of her course. This is standard YT scam nonsense.

Good for her. As a professional writer she can probably wrangle AI far better than just some person prompting “you are an x author write me a story about x”. Of course though I am giving her the benefit of the doubt.

I certainly did not and will not. AI claims are leaving me cold these days. Put AI in a headline and the author wasted time writing the article. I expect the article was written with AI anyway, not interested.

She said she used pen names, including “Coral Hart”, to protect her children from trolls on the Internet and to separate her work by genre.

So that’s an AI generated image and not really her face then? Right?

18 books a month?!
20 000 words per novel (average - some numbers go as high as 40 000)
370000 words a month
12333 words a day.... every day... for 20 months.

At best she would have been giving it high level plots.

And for R99 she’ll show you how.
Lol... likely yes.

AI is a useful tool. And even using it for research/checking stuff for writing novels it's great. But at the number of books she put out there could not have been actual meaningful input from the human. There wouldn't even be enough time in the day to READ all of the output never mind actually be a part of the creation of it.

Right? Or am I just tripping because I'm jealous?

Took a look, picked a random book it’s 100 pages. Second one was 150. Like most things, the product is the course. The numbers do sound insane though.
