Fires break out at French schools as students protest nationwide

Serious question for all of you armchair experts that don't live in France, Europe, etc. LIVE/LIVED is the operative word

BTW:-
France is interchangeable with UK, Australia , Netherlands , etc.

Why do you care so much about a foreign country to whom you own no allegiance , making smart comments on how they can fix their country , wishing for austerity to hit them, etc???

Protest is their form of doing so (screw the damn rioters who are there for other reasons). At least the protestors across economic lines and ethnic lines are united.

Yet, having had the pleasure to live in a few countries for work reasons, I never forget that I am a brown immigrant, usually earning better than most of the locals.

So I would like to believe that I have a better insight than most of you okes cos I am not here for holidays. I live and use the same systems they do - more difficult for me cos I am not as good in French language.

What I will give to the people here and in the other 1st world counties, I have lived in, is that their discussions at the lunch / coffee stations are never about the usual discourse of most middle and upper class South Africans - how to leave the country and complaining but doing nothing. Yes the US are arseholes with their corrupt leadership - that they talk about.

Do you think they give a **** about South Africa and its problems? Heck no, except for holiday advice. And the subsequent : South Africa is an amazing place.

Most South Africans, especially many in this group, would drop South Africa to move to one of the other countries !!?What makes you think you would be the better quality immigrant than the others??

What are you doing for and in South Africa ???

And before anyone comes to say - it's rich I say this - yes, I can cos it's not permanent for me. Never was intended to be. I am making as much money as I can while I am able, but I am coming back to SA where the grass is really greener!!

Off to get some fresh croissants!

we would drop south africa if we could? Nah man, we going nowhere, we are south africans. What are we doing? We vote and we vote and we vote for the same big parties over and over, this time round am trying something different and will vote OHM in Nov.

To answer your question. We care about the whole world and what the commies liberals are doing to it, so its not about the countries.

I quote (with a modification) from 'To kill a Mockingbird'

My question is - are you capable of doing this ?
"You never really understand a white South African until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."
