Cape Town trumps Joburg in global awards

To give an example.

Couple of weeks ago I flew from CPT to Gauteng. My collogues luggage was overweight, but mine was under the limit. Asked if I could "give" some my kgs so that the combined weigh is within the allowance. She said she is not supposed to but allowed it and did not have to pay in.

Tried the same when flying back from OR Tambo. Lady was no. You must pay and made college pay.

Small things ...

Stupid comparison, only one award is for Johannesburg, the rest are for businesses.

That generally depends on the individual at the check-in counter.

well, in hyper developed 1st world Amsterdam flying back with my wife and daughter I had essentially the same

3 x baggage allowance, 2 of the 3 suitcases were way under the allowance, 1 was 0.2 kg over

dumbfahk wanted to charge me for it, so we popped it open right there, took out a shopping bag full of crap and took it onboard as carry-on

some robots are just too stupid to think, and it is not a JHB vs CPT or even a 1st world vs shithole country thing

Were there any awards for potholes? Traffic lights not working? How about street lights and litter? Anything for water and electricity failures?

At this rate Mogadishu is going to trump Johannesburg at most things…

The 23kg/50lb limit is a workers safety consideration established decades ago...

Or Tambo allowed me to fly with my pocket knife, Cape Town was a bit emotional when I insisted....

and for 10 EUR more the workers safety issue vanishes? and 200g is the difference between safety and death?

come the fahk on!
For €10 more your luggage is handled differently.

Why do you think that some airlines, BA for example, don’t care how much your carry on weighs as long as you can lift it up into the overhead bin?
