Openserve - No Fiber available, all my neigbours have it though.

Hi all,

I'm nearing completion on a new house build in the Western Cape and want to get my fibre order in the pipeline.

There is an Openserve pole right on my rear boundary that carries fibre to the rest of the street, and all my immediate neighbours feed from it. I’ve already laid the conduit from my garage out to the pole boundary so it's ready for the drop.

However, when I try to place an order with an ISP, the portal blocks it with the standard "fibre is not available in your area" message. Looking at the coverage map (attached), every neighbour around me is shaded green, except my specific erf which was left white (presumably because it was a vacant plot when they originally mapped the street).

Calling ISP and Telkom sales gets me nowhere since Tier 1 agents just look at the same map and say no. I also emailed [email protected] with no response.

@AfriNatic / @AfriGuy / @Afrigirl - I'm an existing Afrihost customer, could one of your provisioning teams help me log a request with Openserve to flip my Erf to green? Happy to sign up immediately with a package. I can PM the exact Erf/street address and pole coordinates.

I went through this recently with a customer, AH will need to have Openserve create the premises.

The mission we went through Openserve would just flat out say no coverage, eventually they sent a technician out to confirm there was coverage. Then it went back to their planning department to create the premises, and then we could order.

We can assist with liaising with Openserve to request the creation of your premise on their system.

Please log a support ticket and include either your proof of address or your ERF number so that we can submit the request to Openserve for investigation.

Once logged, please share the ticket reference here.
