South Africa’s oldest university collapsing in front of everyone’s eyes

Thats nice.

You are possibly right in so much as far as I'm concerned all politics should be ejected from varisities, DA, ANC, EFF all of them should just fsck off and let students do what they're there to do and paying to do.

Students can have their little societies that focus on things that interest them and that can include poltiics, the minute it spills out and impacts students in general it should be ejected.
You can include religion along with those.

Even when I was at uni it was a mess. "Protestors" essentially forced every student to take part in whatever shutdown they had planned. If you got caught actually trying to attend lectures while they were protesting you got a beating.

I'll never forget risking lectures in secret. Entering the campus via some unused back gate. Lecture room doors locked. Whenever you heard the hooligans racing down the corridor you switched off the projector and sat in silence waiting for them to pass. Nobody should have to go through that sort of thing. There should be tolerance for differing view points.

If it was that bad back then I can only imagine how much worse it is today.

Reminds me of Wits in the early 2000's, at least until one of my fellow engineering students dropped a 'protestor' in front of his fellow 'protestors' when they tried to force us out of a lecture, we weren't bothered much after that happened.

My son is 2nd year at UCT just now and has been forced out of lectures a couple of times by the fees must fall mob. He said when they invaded a class at the start of the new year the lecturer just raises his hands up and walks off.

As for these Islamic fascists, he says everyone just ignores them, it's just easier.

Like this?

When I was at uni sure there were all sorts of student movements but the institution itself was a place of learning that didn't bend to them. Feels like the institutions are being captured by the student movements now, very sad to see.

If they pray hard enough maybe a Christian university will appear and all will be well.
Teehee, jokes aside, it doesn't matter that we think its stupid, it's that they believe and force you to comply.

There are no widescale protests against these university-based protests, therefore you are forced to like it to. Democracy, praise be unto it.

Didn’t have this sort of crap at Unisa. Just some incompetence from their staff occasionally.

UCT was founded by Christians, at a church, by the way. Most of the early universities in the west grew out of churches and monasteries. You’re welcome!

Oh, it's caused by the types that are causing all the issues in Western society.
They should be deported.

The theme I am seeing across the world is that if there
is a Free Palestine flag, then there are problems around it.

All started by that stupid VC who sat down with the students to sing Kumbaya

Bastid caused a load of **** then ran away to reveal his true racist colours at a UK university
