The chancellor has announced that standing charges on gas bills will be scrapped, as the government looks to make energy bills cheaper.
According to the Treasury, it will save around £45 per year on the average bill.
Standing charges amount to an average of £108 for a typical family.
John Healey has asked Ofgem to deliver the policy change in 2027 or "as soon as possible".
The standing charge is placed on all bills, regardless of use, and is used to fund maintenance of the gas network.
These costs will instead be paid for through a slightly increased cost of each unit of gas used, the Treasury says, estimating a saving of 60%.
Will have to see how this works out. You could end up paying more if you use a lot of gas.
