Transport minister pushes mayors of South African towns and cities to sign traffic fine deals with the Post Office

The business rescue practitioners (BRPs) said the Post Office was approved to deliver traffic fine notices electronically under the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) system.

“There have been attempts to stop the implementation of AARTO, which is a revenue generation project for SAPO,” they said.
JHC!?!?!! that is their rescue plan?
There's as much chance of rescuing SAPO as there was of rescuing SAA.

...and I use the term "rescue" very loosely here

The other plan was to get the 1kg parcel monopoly back and then charge all the courier companies a licensing fee so SAPO could sit back and get paid for doing fsck all.

Solly screwed the pooch on that one.

Why does a municipality/town have to have the SAPO send emails on their behalf?

Are there even any business rescue efforts worth mentioning that have been successful in SA?
Seems to me being a BRP is a license to print money with zero consequences for implementing any old random pie-in-the-sky kuk idea.

No offence to any BRP's on here...I am just jealous that I never considered this as a profession choice

State associated rescue processes, don't think any have been successful... in the private sector many have been, but you don't hear about them.

I'm actually struggling to find any real examples of substance.
Not disagreeing with you as my knowledge on this is pretty limited ...just my searches so far have all come up with examples that aren't actually successes.

“Letters from the Minister’s Office have also been signed and addressed to the mayors of outstanding municipalities, emphasising the urgency of municipal participation,” the BRPs said.
NNB question: Did aunty Barbs send those letters via the SAPO?

SAPO can be fixed very easily. First thing is to scrap the renting of buildings, unfortunately corrupt LandLords need to Eat.
