Things that irritate you - Part 4

Unfortunately :(. Really miss pizza.
Had some cream with the Mexican bowl I bought for lunch. Thought, nah, only a little bit; should be fine...... Not so later in the afternoon. It's a freaking pain in the arse, literally and figuratively
lactose intolerant pills ?

vegan cheese for the pizza ?

kosher ice cream makes a brand called parev ( no milk ) - i have no idea if that is something you can eat

No "pills"
Pizzerias around here don't offer that option. (Unfortunately, I've become that one prick at the braai who has to ask what's in almost everything. Irony is I've always mocked these people; now I'm one of them, annoying the family. "Hon, kids want mac & cheese". "Okay but you're going to have to make something different just for me")
Plus, I don't want to have to make it myself.

And no, just no.

Just get the lactase pills.

Just get the pills yea, if you don't, I will be forced to conclude that not only are you now one of "those pricks" but that you are enjoying it.

Nothing a couple of cones/bricks and plank of nails/wall spikes can't fix and BIG SIGN saying "no vehicles".
I've learnt to be deliberate, because people don't like the polite "no, you shouldn't".

My favourite is when the motor's brain fries and you have to replace it (losing all the remotes). Many will be in too much of a hurry in the early morning/late afternoon to get their remote programmed (I keep a simple spreadsheet of remote ID = x unit), then cry blue murder and get iffy/entitled because how dare they lose access.

That reminds me...I should do a backup of the controller again. I have a reverse engineered backup module (see my github) for the non-Smart Centurion motors: the module is difficult to find/get and often get sold the wrong module. I should see if AI can decode the EEPROM dump (if I ever get there, I'll post to git)
With the new Centurion smart motors you can back everything up. You also load the remotes from your phone

Thanks. Saw that as part of the Smart features.

Also nice features like logging on the Smart. It still requires someone to do that and not sure the Smart system wants internet (all blueteeth?). The day-to-day maintenance of the system is generally easy either way and I (or other unwilling sole) can handle the add/change/remove without needing a contractor who will never track who has what remotes (IE bulk add and never remove unless there is an "annual" reset).

In theory, the intercom (Comb / Centurion white-labelled?) can also do remotes, but I like the systems mildly siloed: intercom can be called to open and remotes belong to the motor. Experience has taught me to always have more than 1 method, where possible, so there is a backup, lest the crowd dig out their pitchforks.

Seems to have been reported/posted beginning of 2025.

Can order from Takealot but at a ridiculous price.
