That is exactly the problem. The high density markets for internet is well serviced, while outlaying areas are lucky if they even have a cell signal. The cost per connection is drastically higher in those areas and there is zero appetite to sponsor, yes sponsor, connectivity for those people by the known providers - they have shareholders. If they do, there will be a cost recovery, aka price increases, from the existing base. Yet folks are losing their shyte wanting free stuff and internet. Meanwhile the government is on a crusade to make everything digital.

Some of these remote areas are serviced by niche providers, typically satellite, but at a cost that makes your eyes water. I think Vox is something like R5500/pm. Yet their is less money for such stuff in remote areas.

Folks living and working in cities don't get it.

Have you ever visited govt offices, cop stations, clinics etc, to confirm they have no internet access. I have, where I've driven some long dusty roads between nowhere and fkall,i where you don't even have a cell signal, while the place I visited had no internet access.

But I guess it's a good idea to cut off our noses to spite our faces Elawn and Donny.

Free free Palestine.
