While military service is compulsory, not all Israeli's are active military. Under international law, an unmobilised military reservist or former service personnel are not legitimate military targets.

Active IDF in a combat zone also wear military uniforms, so they don't commit perdify by disguising themselves among civilians.

We are talking about Israel here, International law or common decency does not apply

The point I was making is using some arbitrary unqualified statement to justify the murder of a civilian person is not on.
Just as the IDF labelling any Palestinian civilian an enemy combatant is bs so would it be bs if Hamas labelled any Israeli an enemy combatant just because they previously served in the IDF.
