All the dumbarse voters will be doing the same. Cheering, Standing in a line, and making their mark proudly

Followed by another five years of bitching, moaning, and complaining

10 people climb onto a bus.

3 vote to drive off of a cliff, 2 vote not to. The other 5 don't vote ''because it doesn't matter, we're going to go over the cliff anyway''.

We all die because the bus drove off the cliff. The 5 who didn't vote could have avoided this.

That was very interesting.

My result:
Your closest match on policy
ActionSA
65%

It was nice to do one of these from a South African perspective. I have found that political compass style quizzes are usually US-coded.

My result was also ActionSA - 85%

One or more of the other 5 intervene and push those who try to drive off a cliff, away from the bus driver compartment.
When it comes to matters of survival like that, the analogy is poor.

There is no immediate threat of life and limb with these elections which means there's no flight or fight involved.

People are going without water.

Driving around at night has now become very dangerous because it is total darkness in many areas due to the lack of functioning streetlights and traffic lights.

And the analogy holds - Complicity through apathy/inaction.

Well, I haven't died yet.. I don't drive at night unless absolutely necessary.
Have been buying water for years due to the quality coming out the tap being substandard.

The situation's actually worse than that in SA. About 2/3rds of eligible voters don't vote.

Your 10 people analogy would involve 6 people not voting. Even then it's under-representing reality.

If all these people saying they don't vote because it doesn't change anything all got together and voted for the same party that party would win with a parliamentary majority regardless of who anybody else voted for.
