Israeli Elections

Remember children, Israel is a democracy except for when the Arab parties are now the lynchpin and suddenly we need to eradicate them.

CAN YOU FEEL THE DEMOCRACY?

You literally just posted the courts shooting down the claim that Arab parties have ''stolen'' the election.

And anyway, it is just retarded to be going on like this. Arabs voted and Arab parties hold 19 seats. Literally democracy. If nobody wants to form a government with them, also democracy.

Did you also see my post where courts aren't proof of democracy. North Korea has courts. Every country has courts.

People are currently bitching about Brazil's democracy despite the courts being the one who issues Bolsonaro's arrest

Can you explain why it's not a democracy when they voted, elected candidates and have representation?

The judiciary has shown itself to be independent, a fundamental requirement for a functioning democracy.

Also, comparing things to North Korea? Come on, be serious. You know damn well no judge would ever rule against anything Rocketman says.

And again, Arabs voted and they have representation in the Knesset.

But imagine how much MORE they could have.
No. This is the point I was making earlier. I keep seeing people here arguing about what's good, bad, moral, allowable etc. If I remember correctly you and I had this very conversation in October 2023 about proportionality. None of it exists. None of it is applicable. There is no proportionality in war.

Israel can glass over Gaza tomorrow. People will go apesh!t, there will be threats. A couple of students will get beaten up. There will be much wailing, and gnashing of teeth, and then people will move on to their new pet project. The gullible white middle aged women will find something new to save, and drag their sneaky fokkers off with them. That should have been Netanyahu's legacy. Take it on the chin for your country. He'd forever be a pariah, but the Israeli's would have their country.

The exact same if Iran simply glassed over Israel right now. There would probably be less of an outcry. America would make some appropriate threatening noises, but in the long run they have their own issues to deal with. The rest of the ME is tired of this and most governments will take it any way it comes. They just want to see an end to it, and they do not want Palestinians in their countries.

In the West Bank? Mystery.

Israeli settlers living illegally on occupied Palestinian land in the West Bank can vote while Palestinians living in the same territory under Israeli military rule do not have the right to vote.

Three million Palestinians in the West Bank and two million in Gaza living under Israeli military rule are denied the right to vote.
