Three shot, one dead! Durban dad unleashes gunfire on alleged hijackers in chilling dashcam footage

The same could literally be said for anything in life.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

PS: BTW, you didn't answer the original question... 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

Just another point, as to your sarcasm here, then why do you participate or engage in these type of threads, if you've had this discussion before over and over and over and over and over again...
:unsure::unsure::unsure:

Because someone quoted my post from a few days ago, when we last had the discussion.

I replied to his post, and that of course triggered you to rush back in guns blazing and say the same stuff again.

Jaa well if you didn't comment on these type of threads then there wouldn't be a discussion over and over and over again 🙄 😴🥱

Sidney use gun for a living. Sidney is good with gun. Sidney is trained and very experienced. It's good that Sidney had gun. Other people like Sidney good to have gun too.

Not everyone is like Sidney. People not like Sidney maybe not good with gun. Maybe do crazy stuff. Better not have gun. People like Oscar no good with gun. Many people like Oscar out there. They no make place safe, they make place dangerous.

Not sure what's so difficult.
and, he did also get lucky.

While he was firing at one attacker, another was pointing a gun at his son. So it could have gone a lot worse than it did.

He has a LOT of training and experience. He even admitted himself, most people will just freeze. He didn't because its a part of what he does for a living.

What do you think would have happened if Sidney did not have a firearm ?

You are aware I'm sure, that any civilian can also train and practice as much as they want to, best thing is you could even do it at home it's called "dry firing" as for the "fight or flight" response you're referring to that unfortunately is very difficult to practice, but if you do something a thousands of times over, muscle memory will help you a lot.

Who knows, its not actually common for attackers to fire first at unarmed people - but apparently they did and they do.
They could have hit both him and his daughter inside the car regardless.

The impact of the gun was that he managed to stop them from attacking anyone else - which I agree is a good thing.

and I have always agreed on this point. Gun ownership should require that level of training and practice.

There's a very high possibility that they would have murdered him, raped his daughter, or kidnapped her, stole the vehicle and whatever valuables were inside the residence.

There's a YouTube channel called Active Self Protection, and there's a bunch of videos on there that shows complying or surrendering doesn't guarantee your life or well-being just a FYI.

Its about 1% chance of that happening... nevertheless I'm also terrified of that happening.

Based on crime statistics published by the South African Police Service (SAPS) and analysis by organizations like the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) Africa, the statistical probability that an armed attack (classified as "robbery with aggravating circumstances") ends in murder is roughly 1% to 2%, while the probability of it resulting in a reported rape is slightly lower but heavily influenced by severe underreporting. Nothing guarantees your safety, fighting back runs the risk of retaliation.

anyway, none of us want this to happen to anyone... so then crime prevention is the best thing.
