More tempting now that the new iPhone 17 chips are being made in Israel.
Yeah delaying my iPhone upgrade, very unhappy with where and by whom the chips are designed & engineered by.

Looking at them Chinese phones, i only use iOS on mobile, not really dependent on the ecosystem in totality.
I just cannot pay the huge Apple Mac tax, its just not worth it, don't need it too. Windows all the way.

Trying to fine the new Note 17 locally except for Vodacom can't find any.

I see a lot of parallel imports on takealot.

I want an 8gb ram version

Linux will suprise you with how good it's gotten. It allows you to avoid the apple tax and the windows slop and bloat.

Also, Intel processors have been designed and tested in their Israeli labs for years, so you may want to switch to AMD as well.

People should aim to hold onto their phones for 6 years. The performance improvements are been so slow the last 8 years and there is little reason to upgrade feature wise.

The 2 year contract treadmill has always been crazy.

Honestly speaking you're better of just getting a Redmi Now 15 series phone with the spec you want. Because of cost cutting to keep prices low-ish, the Redmi note 17 series aren't great.

The Note 17 5g uses a Series 4 Snapdragon processor. That little thing is going to battle a lot doing any meaningful work ☹️.
