Someone I know has one brand new still rolled up/compressed that he wants to get rid due to a change of plans, I can get it for just over 60% off the retail price. Has anyone used one of their mattresses before, it's a hybrid latex/memory foam/pocket spring mattress, sounds great on paper.
It's this model:

meticulously crafted for Strawberry/Inverted Triangle and Pear/Triangle body shapes.
Interesting description.

Never heard of them, though if your mattress is on its way out might be a good deal.

I read that, a weird description but I think it’s referring to body shapes.
My mattress is fairly new but I've never really got on with it, at normal retail this mattress is just over double what I paid for mine.
I probably can't really go wrong but hopefully someone has used them or knows of the same mattress that's just been rebranded, considering these manufacturers love using different branding for what is essentially the same mattress - so consumers can't price match.

Whoever does their social media needs to be shot, their videos are like an SABC infomercial made in the 2000's but shot in 2026

Memory foam is great, the only downside for our summers is that they trap body heat.

I had a back op 12 or so years ago and needed something proper to lie down on in my living room. I didn't want to spend 20k so I ended up buying a really cheap stiff couch for 1k and a 5cm or so memory foam mattress, just that 5cm made it as good as a bed.

Is your current mattress foam? If not it might be worth going to a bedding store and trying a few foam mattresses to see if you like the feel?

I have Sloom. They got very pricey.

At 60% discount that sounds like a ridiculous good price. Can't think that you will find anything similar for that price. Worst case it becomes a guest room mattress.

As some have mentioned, foam mattress is best on a slatted base for ventilation and it can be very hot in the summer. Would also recommend to get a mattress protector. Add an additional gel topper later if needed.

No but I have had a foam mattress before no problem with them but these are hybrid - basically pocket coil + a latex/memory foam topper. My current mattress is normal coil with cushion top.

I think my main concern is whether it's going to be too soft, I think I prefer firmer mattresses but surely a mattress rated for 150kg people will be just fine for someone half that weight, I just want adequate support I'm sure I can live with plushness?

@airborne did you end up getting this?
I did indeed, there was a bit of a mix up on the model and it ended up being the Trio, which is one tier down from the other one in the op but that also meant it was a bit cheaper. Initially I was a bit disappointed in that change but it actually turned out to be the best outcome because the Trio is firmer and the firmness feels great.

After this experience I can see if you are going with a coil mattress pocket coils are the best and ideally get a firm mattress and if you find it's too firm just get a memory foam topper, then you have the best of both worlds, plushness and a mattress that doesn't feel like it’s sagging. Also a mattress topper makes great sense because it protects the mattress and can easily be replaced if it wears out or gets damaged, hence minimising the wear on the mattress itself. Only the most expensive mattresses have memory foam cushion tops so you get the best of both worlds without the cost, granted memory foam toppers are pricey but not nearly as expensive as a top range mattress. Another benefit is you actually know you are getting memory foam because the mattress manufacturers obfuscate everything and you never quite know what materials are used and too what degree.

After this experience if I was buying a new mattress from a retailer I would find the cheapest medium to firm pocket coil mattress from one of the top brands like Sealy or similar and then get a memory foam topper separately. Great value because the firmer mattresses without a cushion top are typically the cheapest in whatever range you choose, so you can afford to buy the best brand and then you have a very high quality base mattress along the amazing plushness of the memory foam topper.

The trouble with foam is not the short term test, it's the overnight use - it takes to your form and your needs on your side are different from your back. After sleeping on your side, your back will be sore switching to your back. You end up sleeping on both sides.

I did notice that with the foam mattress I had a few years back, it will form an indentation and because it’s foam it doesn't pop out like a coil mattress would as you change position during the night and that gets worse as the mattress ages. A good pocket coil mattress really does seem superior to foam, granted I’m sure the really expensive foam mattresses must be very nice but they are very pricey and will eventually suffer to some degree from the same aforementioned issue cheaper foam mattresses have.
