Key Details of His Faith and Journey
    • Baptism: Brand was baptized in the River Thames in April 2024 by television survivalist and author Bear Grylls.
    • Prior Background: He previously explored various spiritual practices, including transcendental meditation, Buddhism, and the Hare Krishna movement, alongside a long-documented personal journey with addiction recovery.
    • Public Shift: Since his conversion, he has frequently discussed biblical themes, prayer (such as the Lord's Prayer and the rosary), and Christian teachings across his online platforms and videos.
    • Public Response: His public pivot to Christianity has drawn mixed reactions. Supporters view it as a genuine spiritual awakening, while critics and media commentators have questioned the timing, noting that the shift occurred amidst ongoing legal scrutiny and public sexual assault allegations, which he denies.

It's the same Christian revival horses**t you see everywhere now.
Since decades of over the top liberalism and secularism caused a backlash it's been the in-thing to go back to Jesus and conservatism thinking it'll somehow be different this time.

Wheels are coming off of that new movement too.
One cannot fix stupid by supplanting ideology.

talking in tongues is a great evangelical scam.

some interesting commentary from the nephew of con artist benny hinn.

I saw speaking in tongues all the time, people babbling, people saying just total gibberish, like means nothing.
12:51
12 minutes, 51 seconds
You have people lifting their hands, they're surrendered, their eyes are shut, and they're all speaking in tongues.
12:57
12 minutes, 57 seconds
There's idea that you are getting a language from God that no one can understand, but it's this heavenly language.
13:05
13 minutes, 5 seconds
And so it makes somebody feel like they're very connected to God and it creates a hysteria.
13:11
13 minutes, 11 seconds
And you have all these people mumbling and gibberish and working each other up into a frenzy. It is one of the fastest ways to get swooned.
13:18
13 minutes, 18 seconds
I, at 12 years old, started speaking in tongues, this was normal in my church.
13:23
13 minutes, 23 seconds
You get called down to the altar, you all come down, and they would say like, "Today, you're gonna get the gift of tongues." It's like a pretty common belief in a lot of these circles.
13:32
13 minutes, 32 seconds
And so you go down and they coach you.
13:35
13 minutes, 35 seconds
They just say, "Just open up your lips and you lift your hands." You're always lifting your hands.
13:38
13 minutes, 38 seconds
And they say, "Just say what's on the tip of your tongue." And you're like...
13:42
13 minutes, 42 seconds
And they're like, "Yeah, you got it. You got it." And you start to feel like you're a part of the community. And here's the real kicker.
13:48
13 minutes, 48 seconds
A lot of these circles teach, if you don't speak in tongues, you haven't experienced the Holy Spirit or God. You're not a real Christian.
13:55
13 minutes, 55 seconds
You don't have the power of God, which that allows this whole group of liars to create an elite class, put themselves in it, and then all of their followers are scared to what?
14:08
14 minutes, 8 seconds
Not be in the realm of blessing. And so they do whatever they're told, and they go...
14:13
14 minutes, 13 seconds
And they're like, "I have tongues. I speak in tongues." I don't know if you remember Trinity Broadcasting Network, people tuning in all over the world.

Winter questioned whether Brand had been able to persuade any friend or acquaintance who might have been able to give evidence on his behalf to appear in court.

Brand replied: "I have not." Winter asked: "Will they touch you with a bargepole?" Brand said: "No."
