2026 local government elections real time results and updates

Seems like things are heading in the right direction for the first time in forever....(at least in some areas!!)

Yet If you truly understand the monster created by the ANC then you'll know that fixing things is going to be one hell of a task that will be met with much pushback from the now deeply entrenched corrupt and devious elements that exist at nearly every single level of governance.

Can you imagine the struggle Helen Zille will face in weeding out the entire ANC-aligned middle-management rot in the COJ?! I wish her well! Those guys were engaging in some serious late-stage looting.

Was the township turnout really low?

The results are in somewhat before most suburbs and it seems like a low turnout number of voters compared to higher suburban turnout.

..... politics is tough.

True! Just ask Paul!!!!! :ROFL: :ROFL: :ROFL: :ROFL:

So how exactly will the SACP govern a ward in a democracy??

Their whole manifesto and the way they govern is in complete opposition to South Africa's structures.

They're communists, do they just comply with the law or do they attempt to centralize and communize whatever they do.

@TheChamp

Remember when TheChamp argued so vehemently that there was no issue with the awarding of the license to Mashatile's connections :D

Why does it feels like the vote counting is going slower than usual?

After 24h only 36% of Gauteng votes have been counted, 34% in KZN, 39% in Free State, 41% in N Cape and 55% in W Cape.

🤔

An interesting coalition in Tshwane would be DA/FF+/EFF :sneaky:

We know the EFF is going to cause problems (not attending meeting/walking out on counsil votes) no matter if they are inside or outside the ruling coalition so hold them close and try and manage them.
