The Straight Story (1999)
A very plain true story. Don't expect much to happen, just a very heartwarming and sad movie. 7/10

Beware Boiúna (2026) - 6/10. Average horror creature feature. Acting is meh. I didn't care much for any of the characters. Creature effects not that great either. If you compare it to an E-TV classic like Anaconda, it doesn't make the grade. Watch if you have nothing else to do.

Excellent survival thriller. An extremely touching watch. Movie than a few nail-biting scenes. Brad is great but Odin (dog) is a masterclass. Final scene will require some tissues unless you're a heartless fuk.

The Odyssey (2026)
Brilliant cinematography, faultless acting, great special effects, but the story is dumb, and the movie is too long and boring. I didn't even recognise John Leguizamo, as the makeup is amazing. 6/10

Now that was decent. Love the style/ monsters and dash of humour.

Oh no, damn

Really enjoyed it. Watch in a dark room, with a nice sound system. Adds to the overall movie.
Whoever said it wasn't scary owes me a new onnie. Mine is shat-tered.

Another great one. Didn't expect so many comedic moments.

I enjoyed it...especially the tongue in cheek approach. Special effects were excellent.

The Odyssey
7, would have been 7.5 if a lot of it wasn't so dark I had no clue what was going on.

I read somewhere here that "story was dumb"....jesus wept.
It's literally the cornerstone of Western literature.

The poem seems "dumb" if you're not into that. But its in the name, its an odyssey. It's the entire point.

I'm more of a Shakespeare man.
I forgot to add that the SO really liked it. The American accents were also a bit jarring to me.

There's a tendency towards extra long movies - most could be trimmed by at least 30 minutes.
The Odyssey, I felt could have been longer, perhaps even split into two movies.
There's just so much more background and context to the characters and to the mythology that could have been included.
