Half Life 2 Setup DVD ( Steam ) WHERE Can i Download Half Life 2 for Windows - x86

Half Life 2, CSS and Steam
I just bought a second hand copy of Half Life 2 complete with box and CD key. It was a good deal for R60, I think.:) How can I get it working on Steam? According to them, the CD key is "in use". Will Steam let me use it or grab the key back? -

HalfLife2 not running
So the other day I got the orange box after a 2 hour setup and updates I am finaly done now the only problem is that HL2 does not want to start. It give me that it wants to verify and after that then nothing zero zip. Hl2 EP1+2 works and all others work but not hl2. Any ideas why it does...
