Can't access news server on Pure Fibre
I'm unable to get SABnzbd to connect to either news.afrihost.co.za or news.afrihost.com on port 119. I tried using my Afrihost access details in username/password but still get [Errno 111] (110, 'timed out') errors. Adding international NNTP servers works fine and can connect & download, so is...- Freakboy

Slow speeds on news.afrihost.com NNTP usenet newsgroup server
Hi, I'm in Cape Town on 10mbps Afrihost premium capped and use sabnzbd to run overnight during 00:00-08:00 unmetered data. I have noticed Afrihost's "own" server delivers very poor speeds and seems very unresponsive. I have gone to the additional step to buy a 00:00-12:00 (Holland-time)...- tndl79

NNTP Slow on Bigger files ??
Why is it that MWeb NNTP is slower on files exceeding 1Gb (4-80KB) ? but on files smaller than 1Gb I get 400KB through SABnzbd- ShakeSpeer
