Cheeky but somewhat expected that the M6 mini base is $899 with 16GB memory - unexpected that its 256GB of storage. I thought it'd start at 512GB...

$2499 for the Base M5 Max Studio with 36GB/512GB is good value. The ultra when maxed out is going to probably be north of $23,000 with 512GB unified memory (only available October - no pricing) - the M5 Ultra with 36c/80gpu with 256GB memory/16TB storage is $18299

I doubt anyone running the fully specced M3 ultras would be motivated to upgrade. At least 128GB, 256GB and 512GB models won’t be as scarce as the last 6 months for those wanting to buy. Anyone forced to settle for a 64GB m4 max or a 96GB m3 ultra model in the last 3 months will be pissed.

They have telemetry - clearly there are customers who still have plenty free space. I checked my one mini I lightly use and it’s still got 70GB free.

RAM and Storage have gotten mad expensive though, it's not like Apple is immune to it.

Sure they could get rid of it but the base price would be even higher then, they aren't going to not protect their margins...
