2G Phone with USIM using 3G for Internet

Is it possible to use my S700i with a USIM for internet via 3G?

I recently upgraded (3months ago) and now I am very much interestedin getting onto 3G data.

The Video Calling can wait a while, but just ot get onto the Internet via 3G would be great.
I am currently using GPRS and the cost is not that great as it's not included in my current package..(no free data)...

What would 3G rate be?

Off hand Id have to say no....it is a hardware dependant feature thus a 3G handset is needed to utilise the 3G network.

Impossible. 3G uses a completely different technology from 2G.

Although the USIM should be backward compatible and work with your S700i without any trouble, its unfortunately a phone limitation that will stop you being able to use 3G services. As mentioned by the other responses above, 3G uses a completely new technology that needs to be supported in by the end user hardware.
