3G, does sucktech have the only license?

Vodacom and MTN have "test" 3G licenses, however it is more than likely these will become permanent so expect a few more 3G players soon. iBurst works on a completely different technology but you'll need to wait until around Feb/March before they launch. It would be wise to wait a while to get some feedback from customers about the service and performance before making a decision.
 
ic, you could approach iburst and get a beta test account, i think its 700 odd per month if you dont buy the modem upfront but you have to sign a 24 month contract.

only *** thing is the 3 gig cap, they have burstable up to 1 meg though.... afterwards it's throttled to 64k, which is better than adsl but still...

The reason why sentech had a press release saying that other people shouldn't waste their money and setup and "duplicate" technology (towers etc) is because they're scared... scared that others might provide a better service than them and they'll lose the couple of hundred million rand they invested in this already...
