Hi All,

I have a 4mb ADSL line however my linksys router (WAG200G) reports 1312 kbps and speedtest.net 1125 kbps downstream.

Could this be a configuration issue or Telkom issue (line noise / attenuation)?

Hi All,

Get Telkom to do a line test. How afar are you from your exchange ?

1mb up to 4mb, depending on you're distance from the dslam.

Don't think it's really a problem, you're router will synch at the speed it can maintain, dropping in small increments.

Can try phoning in and asking the consultant to up you're profile to 2mb and see if it's stable and then 3mb and 4mb etc...

Your line is not capable of holding a 4mb adsl line.

Downstream Rate: 1312 kbps
Upstream Rate: 384 kbps
Downstream Margin: 9 db
Upstream Margin: 13 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 56 db
Upstream Line Attenuation: 15.5 db
Downstream Transmit Power: 6 db
Upstream Transmit Power: 17 db

Your line figures are just 2 poor
