619 problem in Kempton Park

Hmm - signal you say. I believe my signal display on the dashboard is quite accurate, as it shows 3-4 bars in Kempton, and 1 bar in JHB at work. However, I get a 3G connection in JHB. In Rivonia, I get a 5 Bar signal strength. I'd say the signal is ok, but if not - Vodacom, where is my signal? I have been a 3G user almost since it came out, so I know my area (Birch Acres) is well covered.

It's been 5 days since my 3G deserted me, and a website job that should take me 1 hour is taking me 3 hours over GPRS - which is also quite slow at the moment, so it is VERY frustrating.

But going back to the signal suggestion, I'll do a firmware update on my 740 and see if it manages the signal any better.

Hi there. I've upgraded my firmware, everything looks fine in JHB, actually getting two bars now on the dashboard. Not sure of the Orange light - document says "The modem is currently PDP context activated on the HSDPA system." - what on earth does that mean? Previously my card switched from 3G to GPRS in town due to the poor signal, now switching between Blue, Green and Orange - did someone mention disco lights?

I'll give my connection in Kempton another try tonight.
