7600GT vs. 7900GS

Well I paid R4k for my X850XT last year in July. How much do you think its worth now?
 
Its PCI-E, I see now its better to spend less on gfx cards in terms of money lost when the technology becomes outdated. I know I guy who had 2 x 7900GTXs and now he's selling them cos he's bought 1 x 8800GTX. I guess when your into graphic cards that deep you have to keep upgrading to cut your losses as quickly as possible.
 
well he going to make a massive loss on that card thats for sure

the trick is not buying to soon and knowing what the new technology will be, or trying to keep up to date as much as possible :)

it helps if you have that kinda to use for hardware then it doesnt really matter
 
ya that card is faster than a 7950x2

lets just that card is shizz :)

its really nice when you want to upgrade not to have search google for 7 possible cards your looking at

I had a 6600GT which blew, just like its predecessor, which was also a 6600GT, but they were AGP, and i'm going for a total system overhaul, and finally switching to PCI-E, so I NEED a graphics card now, and for R200 more than a 7600GT, which I originally planned to get, IMO the 7900GS is totally worth it, not only performance wise, but for its resale value aswell. If I can get R800 bucks for this card in a few months, i'd be happy. ;)

I totally agree that it's not such a good idea investing in a DX9 card at this time (then again GFX cards don't make for very good investments anyways :p), but for farks steaks, i need something to keep me busy over the holidays! :o
 
let me explain something and then you can make your choice because at the end of the day i dont mind what ya do hahaha

but when you want to sell it dx 10 will standard and ppl wont buy dx9 cards

it will be like trying to sell your agp card now, going to get a lot less than you think for it

if you have the extra cash then spend but where are you getting 7900gs for 200 rand more than a 7600gt?

strange thing touch wood ive never had a problem with any of the 9 vga cards ive owned

anyways, I CANT afford a DX10 card ATM, so I don't have much of a choice, now do I? :rolleyes:

Well the cheapest 7600GT I can get is R1400 at Axiz, while I can get a 7900GS for R1600 at Sahara. R1600 - R1400 = R200 difference, Voila! ;)

ya sahara's pricing is rather funny

im sure sahara has a 1200 buck 7600gt :)

when the 7900gs came out sahara had it priced at more than 7900gtx haha

7900GS then if it's R1600 :)
As much as I'd like to say a DX10 card is better, they simply aren't there at a good price and besides both UT2K7 and my other favourite from Crytek will work fine :) on that card
