Hi, Wondering if anyone out there may be able to help i went to reset my BILLION Modem/Router a 5102 and it will not reset I keep getting an error in red after I try and apply all the information and the Error is: ERROR Fail to update due to Duplicate to a Rem Node Name, can anyone tell me why this is happening as it has locked me out of using it now, How can I fix the problem?????the modem is only around 2 years old if that, but I cannot find the receipt for warranty. Any help would be appreciated. thx

Call Billion Support they are helpful and were at the office earlier this week 086000 2375

Where exactly are you getting the error? Have you tried to factory reset the unit by holding the reset button at the back for longer than 6 seconds?

I have rang Billion, they have never heard of it and said nothing they can do, I should take it back to place of purchase, which was a computer markets about 2 years ago but I can't find the receipt, it has a date pinned on the back I'm guessing manufacture date of 11/05.

It happens when I go into Wizard and put in the configurations, SERVICE:, Username, Password all that goes through ok, I go to the 2nd page where I put in the default IP's, subnet Mask, Lan Config etc then it says Finish or apply something like that I do that then this ERROR message appears and it won't configure the modem making it useless and not working. All the lights are on the modem the modem is working ok in that respect, but because it has no configurations it won't let me hook up to the internet. i hope this makes sense.

Sorry I have tried the reset button as well but as I accidently went into Wizard originally it cleared al previous configurations, then this is where the problem has started, but yes tried the reset.

Have you tried entering the details without using the quick start? Just go to interface setup.

I have this is where the error occurs after I access the web interface Wizard section, i don't know any other way.

Do another 6 sec reset. Forget the Wizard. Go to Interface Setup, Internet and enter your ISP Username and Password. Then go to Maintenance and choose your own Password. Everything else you can leave as is for now. Good luck.

Just letting you know, it has fixed itself, I tried late last night for the lucky last time, after I had tried all methods for about 20 times, but I think because I had disconnected the modem from all power and from my computer because I used another modem temporarily it must have fixed itself, the only difference between last night and the day before was I never disconnected it from my computer tower so I'm putting it down to that I guess, but I put the info in last night and it accepted it and I'm using it now. Thank you all for helping and taking the time to look.
