Just to let every one out there who plays CS 1.5, Valve has anounced it will be killing all WON servers(authentication servers) on the 26th of July signaling an end to CS 1.5. To continue playing u will have to download STEAM(valves new content delivery system) and play like that. Steam is only authorised over seas so when capped it is highly difficult to play as u can't update or authorise your self. A very cool era has ended. Let us hope a equally good era is about to begin!!![:(][V][:(][V]

I can see how this must suck for people without a good internet connection, but I can definitely see where Valve is coming from with this move.

Counter Strike 1.5 is officially gone. SGS killed there server. I guess it is hello steam. It is not actually that bad though. Played today, actually quite cool. Unfortunatley there is about 600meg download to get steam up and running as it downloads the whole game again.

Don't play CS myself, but if I'm not mistaken SAIX have some workaround to allow capped users to authenticate and they have their own content server as well.

yes and no. they have tried to do some port prioritization for capped users. Yes it works(sometimes) but it is not and enjoyable wait. But the is a big thanks that must go to the guys at SGS for getting SAIX to do this.
