A warning for 4mb users that are not getting 10mb upgrades

This is all confusing. I applied for a 4Mb line a year ago and got a line which syncs and still does at 10Mb at the 4Mb price. Since December, I am now paying R100 less than I was last year? R262 for DSL Faster, R170 for the Tel line & R218 for Do Uncapped Premium.(excl. VAT). Never asked to be downgraded... just had my bill lowered on it's own for December and January. So this thread just confused me... or is Telkom confusing their accounts dept?

I'll say it's confusing! You applied for a 4Mb line (which at the time was fastest), Telkom upgraded the exchange to 10Mb, you are getting a 10Mb connection, but Telkom reduced your bill to DSL Faster without being asked?
Pretty much the opposite of my experience. My February bill still shows me being charged for Fastest, although my line only syncs at 3Mb.

I called them today cause I saw on my bill it was still charged for the full price. They didn't want to do it. Even though I told them the price is not the same as on their website

When I called last month to "downgrade" to 4mbps the woman on the phone didn't even know that the prices had changed, and this is on the business call center. Ended up doing it through the Telkom Twitter account.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Telkom call center is absolutely useless!

And today I noticed I am being charged R425 for fastest. :wtf:

so after 3 hours on the phone this is hopefully sorted out

I had the same issue. I had to log a call to get downgraded from 4meg to 4meg. Only at Telkom can you downgrade from the same speed to the same speed LMAO
