AA predicts petrol price drop expected for December

Fuel price data is mixed for next month, with petrol prices set to drop by far more than diesel.

This is according to the Automobile Association (AA), which stated that the appreciation of the rand has been countered by a sharp spike in international oil prices.

AA predicts petrol price drop expected for December

Fuel price data is mixed for next month, with petrol prices set to drop by far more than diesel.

This is according to the Automobile Association (AA), which stated that the appreciation of the rand has been countered by a sharp spike in international oil prices.

The diesel price is unlikely to decline in December. We have been in under recovery (which points to an increase) on 5 of 11 days in the current fuel cycle, including each of the last 4 days. Diesel prices also tend to rise in the northern hemisphere winter (due to heating oil demand) and don't take the big hit that petrol does from a lockdown.

I'm currently projecting a 4c/l increase. for diesel and a 30c/l decrease for petrol.
