ADSL and Exchange 2003

OK, I had a chat with a mate at work and the easiest way to do it is as stated before.

You need to forward the email to another server that has the ADSL IP as the gateway IP. The reason it isn't working is because the mail system that trying to send you email is getting 2 different IP when trying to communicate with your mail server. One on the diginet line and one comming from your exchnage server outbound traffic on the ADSL line.

Unless you understand using source routing and have a device that supports it you'll have to set your Exchange server gateway to the Diginet IP and install an XP machine with SMTP and set that machines gateway to the ADSL IP. You then set the SMTP service on your exchange server to forward all mail to the XP machines IP.

Yip. If did decide to have Exchange use smtp.saix.net or the likes for external mail then you could add a manual route on your exchange server to route all data heading towards smtp.saix.net's ip to use adsl as a gw.

Just remember that you're going to have to set the XP SMTP service to allow the Exchange server to relay through it by adding the IP.
 
I'm assuming you have a multi-homed system? ie 2x network interfaces? If so, setup on as 'inbound' and one as 'outbound'. Give inbound a static address on the diginet, and outbound a static on the dsl. The setup a static route for the outbound connection statinf 'all outbound ip traffic route to nic_outbound'. And you're set. If you post internal IP's then I'll write the commands for you in here - PM me ig you need any more help!
