ADSL Price Offer

So Web Africa and SAOL must be giving out accounts at a loss? Hmmm, i dont see why ANYbody in their right minds would try and make a loss.
I think other ISP's are currently making a pretty big profit on their 30GB offerings. They think that price stability is more important than handing the full savings to their customers (they keep bringing up the fact that it's only a promotion as their only defence).

They probably also think that when the time comes for Web Africa to increase their prices again (clearly something changes in the future with regards to SAIX pricing structure) their customers will be outraged and will leave them in droves or something to that effect, and they want to play it safe rather than take a similar risk. Or that's what I think anyway. Didn't stop me from joining Web Africa though :)

Question is do you want an extra r450 in your pocket at the end of 3 months? I'm all for chopping and changing if there is a significant difference. For Aug and September I could afford an additional 30gb each month from the savings alone.

As the expression goes - a fool and his money are soon parted.

Our SAIX/Telkom account manager "suggested" that we hard cap our users at 27GB in order to avoid these penalties, as it is quite easy for an ADSL user to eat 3GB in a single session.
Never take a Telkom employee's advice!

That makes absolutely no sense. Then you're paying for 30GB and only getting 27GB. Then again, I've yet to find Telkom ever making much sense.

thats BS

Right now we are making a small loss on the promo. This is our first month offering SAIX DSL an thus priced it according to the established market prices. We want to try offer some form of stability (ie against lowering and raising prices). We all love price reductions, but the converse is true too.

Also with our current pricing we feel will be more realistic in the future p/mb environment (assuming if and when that happens).

when the webafrica 30gb promotion is finished how much will it be then?

Ye well, after 3 months they will have to make up for their loss somehow I guess ;p
