In 2018 I created a website using the Afrihost Site Builder in cPanel. Several years later, Afrihost updated the Site Builder software so that legacy sites could no longer use it, but provided access to the old version for updates and edits. This was available in January 2023, because I was able to make some edits then.
Now I want to do further editing, but it appears that access to the legacy software has been removed without notice. Worse, Afrihost support won't even admit that the site was built with their software! This was their answer to my request for access to edit the site:
"We have checked and noticed that the website "demanddriven.co.za" is not built using Sitebuilder. We could see css, index.html files for the website. You may please contact the developer for further assistance with editing the site." Well I'm the developer and I know what I did!
Has anyone had a similar issue?

Hello.

I am unable to locate the site builder installation of the initial site. I've logged in to site builder but there is no site there and file manager does show your website content was uploaded but not through site builder.

I offer the attached screen image from 2019 as proof that the site was constructed with SiteBuilder.

I understand that the site was built with Site Builder, but the installation file does not exist now.

Hi

The access to the legacy site builder app is still available on your server and package.

Thanks very much! Problem resolved. Amazing that Afrihost's support staff didn't know this!

No problem. We are happy to assist. The legacy sitebuilder dashboard and related features are end-of-life (EOL) and I would recommend starting to migrate the site over to the new sitebuilder version for more features and better support.

Is it possible to do the migration and if so, how?
This was the answer from Thami at Afrihost support:

"please note that you are not able to upload any content from another web builder as site builder only allows its own content to be used
However you may use wordpress to upload content from another web builder that will allow it work
You can still use sitebuilder to rebuild your website"

The new site builder is quite complicated as it uses a database to generate content where as the old site editor that you used was static html pages. I will speak to the team to see if this is possible but doesn't look like it.

Hi

I am a new Afrihost/SiteBuilder user and am having a bit of technical difficulty with limited support.
Hoping a couple of questions could be answered here :

1) Am I able to remove the Footer from my Homepage only, and if so how? (I want the footer on the website to remain on all pages, excluding the landing page).

2) Can I drag and drop a logo anywhere on the page? Seems to allow me to drop it to only specific spots, and the positioning is not quite right...

Thank you!!
