What do you think of Storm?

Hi Peter

The uncapped ADSL costs R1000 for an unfixed IP, and R1500 for a fixed IP.

Could we come and meet with you to discuss this further.

Regards

Roger

Does this include the line cost, or is it on top of the line cost?

South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.

hi there i have a viable alternative nearly complete and part of "cannonball linux" as some refer to it where you purchace a pool of usernames and these will be managed by the server to give you a uncaped service on the ADSL network not on any 3d party network the system can take as many usernames as you require say 2-3/4-6/6-9 @ 240r each 480-720/960-1440/1440-2180 per month for 9/18/24G now the line will be rate limited to 64/128/256 to limit over use ...

the logic behined this is sound concider the following ...

64kbs 24/7 100% is 20G/month
as office hours are 30% of month
100% office hours will be 6G ... so you can start off with 2 Accounts and go up to 3...

the other possibility is to run a additional load balanced limited link for say webbrowsing also at 64Kbs [3gb http should be sufficient atm]

so you can have 2*64 for 1720 (total BW spend)

They say no - line rental excluded. So they're basically just an ISP.

Yip, and if a local cap is enforced as has been suggested on these boards, you're only looking at extending your cap from 3GB to between 10GB - 13GB depending on how Telkom implements the local cap. So it's a pretty expensive way of buying a few more gigabytes.
