The dashboard does not open automatically when I start Windows (by choice), but when I do open it, there are two annoying popups that drive me insane, since they intervere with the PIN popup [1]:

- a dialup popup;

- if you click cancel on that, a broadband connection dialog, which also has to be cancelled

Any ideas on how I can get rid of those?

[1] I've kept the option to enter the SIM card PIN for the time being, just in case somebody walks away with my notebook and chew up bandwidth!

btw - what is the procedure at Vodacom when a datacard gets stolen? Hopefully they'll block it immediately?

Try going into options and deselecting autodial when program starts or such like. You can blacklist your sim just like when a cellphone is stolen.
