Audi expands Q2 range with more accessible S Line entry model
Audi has made its Q2 crossover more accessible with the introduction of a new S Line derivative.
Priced at R679,000, the new Q2 S Line undercuts the Urban Edition by R69,000 and the Black Edition by just over R100,000.
It represents the final chapter for Audi's Q2, which is being discontinued globally later this year, with no direct internal combustion-engined replacement model planned as yet. Instead, the new A2 e-tron is expected to become the Ingolstadt firm's new entry-level model.
But what does the Q2 S Line have to offer in the meantime?
The seats of the new entry-level model are upholstered in cloth, while standard features include the MMI Radio Plus touchscreen infotainment system with Park System Plus and a reverse camera, Audi Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, multifunction leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control and ambient lighting.
Externally, it doesn’t shout base model, thanks to standard 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels, as well as Matrix LED headlights with dynamic light sequencing and dynamic turn signals.
However, upgrading to the Urban Edition gets you a panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate, synthetic leather upholstery, Comfort Key and unique design elements, including Graphite Grey alloy wheels and unique bumpers with a contrasting paint finish.
At the top of the range, the Black Edition gains black exterior finishes, 19-inch alloys, 10-colour ambient lighting and a flat-bottom sports steering wheel, among other additions.

Audi South Africa has launched the Q2 S Line as a new entry-level variant in the local Q2 model range. Here’s how much you can expect to pay for the Q2 S Line.
Audi South Africa has revised its Q2 model lineup with the introduction of the entry-level S Line variant, positioned below the Urban Edition and Black Edition derivatives. The S Line is aimed at offering buyers a more accessible entry-point into the Q2 range.
Across the range, the Q2 is equipped with a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developing 110 kW and 250 N.m of torque. These outputs are sent to the front wheels via an S tronic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. According to the German marque, this unit returns a fuel consumption of 6.1 L/100 km. Audi claims the Q2 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds, before topping out at 213 km/h.
Standard specification include 18-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels, matrix LED headlamps, LED taillamps and sport suspension. Inside, the A2 S line features 12.3-inch ‘Virtual Cockpit’ digital instrumentation, MMI radio plus with smartphone integration, Audi sound system, front sports seats, ambient lighting, automatic air conditioning, and a three-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel. Model-specific items include revised bumpers, illuminated aluminium door sill trim with ‘S’ badging, body-coloured mirror housings and Matt Platinum Grey ‘sideblades’.
