Hi Everyone,

Just spoke to Axxess, and they are saying that their 30GB account will be retailing at around R450-R500/m.

Is this true?

Or is it a ploy, 3GB international with 30GB local?

Anyone else care to comment?

no idea ... still waiting for them to make their official statement ... which should b sometime this year :)

This is rediculous. I need to make a desicion on whether to stay with Axxess, or go with IS uncapped.

Wish they would hurry up with their official statement...

My ADSL line being installed on Friday (according to Telkom anyway), and I still have no idea who I'm going to hire as my ISP. This is crazy... I really hope Axxess makes an annoucement soon, otherwise I'm going to forced to go with one of the ISPs who have.

Vulk, If I were you I'd sit on the fence to see what your options are after 1 Nov. That way, you don't spend money before you decide you just made a moerse mistake.

Also, don't sign ANY contracts for longer than a month....
Contracts.. bwahaha and Telkom... you got more luck negotiating with a pihrana, than with Telkom..

Too true. Trying to negotiate with telkom is like trying to negotiate with fanatical suicide bomber pressing the button.

I dont want sound like the agent of gloom,

But there is no way they can do that, they will have a 3gb CAP on international. no one is going to bypass this Telkom move.

However, this is rummor of a local CAP being offered by some ISP, one of the big 5 for inter branch VPN

Vulk, my advice would be, in the absence of any announcements, just go with the R198 30GB WebAfrica deal till the end of the month, at that price you can not really go wrong.
Just cancel the recurring billing after you have your log on details and you will not be cut off till the end of the month. Then come month end you can either renew with WA depending on their pricing at that point or go with one of the other ISP’s if they are offering a better deal.
My Gut feeling is that WA will be the best deal come 1 Nov but time will tell I guess.
Good luck with your installation.

Maybe ISPs that want to keep on supplying bandwidth at a good price could buy cheap satelite bandwidth somewhere and sell it underneath the table to people just interested in downloading a lot.

Sentech own those rights. They are the only legal satelite people.
